Employment in the elderly care sector through the Kudumbashree K4 Care project: NIPMAR and Kudumbashree jointly train 1,000 women

As part of the K for Care project implemented in the state by Kudumbashree, training is being provided to one thousand women in the field of elderly care. The training is being provided in a one-month certified course in collaboration with the National Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation-NIPMER, a renowned institution in this field. The aim of the project is to provide various services in the field of elderly care and to provide better employment opportunities to Kudumbashree women. The training will start from the first week of March at the NIPMER campus in Thrissur. The opportunity will be for women only. Those who successfully complete the course also have job opportunities in foreign countries.

Any Kudumbashree member, Kudumbashree family member or auxiliary group member between the ages of 25-40 can participate in the training program. They must have passed 10th class. The trained members will be known as K4 Care Executives. They will be able to find employment in various fields including care of the elderly, bedridden patients, differently-abled people, newborn babies, and post-natal care. Kudumbashree will also support this.

As part of the project launched in January 2024, 605 people who received training in the first phase have already found employment with good wages. Considering this, we are now providing job training to a thousand women in this field in collaboration with NIPMAR. Those who wish to participate in the training program should contact the Kudumbashree District Mission Office in their respective district.
