The State Urban Development Mission, is one of 5 pioneering state missions in the country in the area of digital governance. They have been set up under the aegis of the National Urban digital Mission. IKM functions as the core unit of the State Urban Development Mission, the supporting cell of which is housed in the office of the Principal Director LSGD.

SUDM shall contribute to evolving strategies for utilizing Information Technology (IT) and Develop e-Governance Platform & Software Applications to improve citizen services and for ushering in administrative reforms, responsiveness and transparency and to co-ordinate IT implementation efforts in the Urban Local Bodies. A Comprehensive Intelligent Integrated e-Governance Platform for Citizen Service Delivery and Governance of Urban Local Governments with combined features of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Business(Government) Process Management (BPM) and Customer(Citizen) Relationship Management (CRM) towards ensuring Ease of Living for the People, Ease of Doing Businesses and Ease of Working for Employees is envisaged.
