Rashtriya Grama Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) - Strengthening Local Governance
Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) is mainly aimed at developing governance capabilities of Panchayat Raj Institutions to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 11 components of RGSA include Capacity Building, Institutional Infrastructure, Human Resource, Distance Learning, Panchayat Infrastructure Support, E-enablement, and Support for Innovation. While KILA coordinates training and capacity building, capital interventions are coordinated by the department. The State has pioneered interventions for localisation of SDGs, and for digtising all office work and services of panchayats through KSMART
The training initiatives touch on areas ranging from basic administrative skills and understanding of panchayati raj acts and rules to e governance, and specific thrust areas like waste management, extreme poverty eradication, climate resilience etc.
