The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), implemented in the State through  Kudumbashree, aims at enhancing the skills and employability of rural youth, with a pronounced emphasis on sustainable employment. The program includes skill gap assessment, awareness campaigns, capacity building, skill training, certification, placement services, and post-placement support. The project is executed with the help of Project Implementing Agencies (PIA). The targeted beneficiaries should be between 15 and 35 years of age.  Kudumbashree has dedicated teams at the state, district, and sub-district levels to execute DDU-GKY in Kerala.

Altogether, 82,861 students have commenced training, 72,238 students have completed training, 51,477 students have been appointed and 40,550 students have completed three months placement (cumulative). Among this 300+ students were placed abroad. During the year 23-24, 1,843 students commenced training, 2,394 students have completed training and 1,195 students have found placement.
