Suchitwa Mission is the Technical Support Group (TSG) in Waste Management sector under the Local Self Government Department, Government of Kerala. It is responsible for providing technical and managerial support to the Local Self Governments of the State. Also responsible for conceptualizing, action planning, conducting creative workshops, organizing training programmes, initiating sector related studies, bringing out occasional papers, initiating action research, conducting monitoring and such other activities in Waste Management Sector. The Mission is also the Nodal agency for implementing Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) and Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) in the State

Taking the lead in Waste Management, the Local Self Government Department proudly owns Suchitwa Mission, a Technical Support Group (TSG) under its purview. Our crucial role involves providing technical and managerial support to local self-governments in Kerala. As the nodal agency for implementing Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban and Rural), and the Communication and Capacity Development Unit (CCDU) in the state, our goals are clear. We aid Local Self Government Institutions (LSGIs) in achieving Total Sanitation coverage, ensuring seamless policy, strategy, planning, implementation, and monitoring of Solid and Liquid Waste Management. Moreover, we actively engage in Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaigns, Capacity Building activities, and promote compliance with Green Protocol, reflecting our dedication to a sustainable and eco-friendly environment.
