Child Friendliness is more than just a concept; it’s a commitment to creating environments, policies, systems, and practices that prioritize and promote the well-being, development, and protection of children. It encompasses a holistic approach where buildings, institutions, public spaces, organizations, families, and individuals consistently consider and uphold the rights of children in all aspects of decision-making and action. Achieving child-friendliness entails a fundamental shift in mindset and behavior, where the rights of children are at the forefront of every thought and action. To truly embody child-friendliness, it is essential to adhere to four key principles. Firstly, avoiding discrimination ensures that every child, regardless of their background, circumstances, or characteristics, is treated with dignity and respect. Secondly, prioritizing the best interests of children means making decisions and implementing policies that safeguard and promote the overall well-being of children above all else.
