Souparnika Kudumbashree Unit presents Kerala’s own flavours at ‘Vividha Ka Amrit Mahotsav’

Sajeena, Nusrat, Prashanthini, Maimuna and Shahida, members of the Souparnika Kudumbashree unit in Kozhikode district, are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the diverse flavors of Kerala at the ‘Vividha Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ organized at the Amrit Udyan of the President’s House. The fair, organized from March 1 to 9, was attended by South Indian states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Union Territories like Puducherry and Lakshadweep. The opportunity came to them after Kudumbashree got the food stall allotted to Kerala.

Although they have participated in many food fairs, including international trade fairs organized in Delhi, this is the first time they are participating in the fair organized at the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s garden. They were initially nervous when they got selected, but later flew to Delhi with confidence.

Since the beginning of the fair, they have captivated the visitors with their food dishes full of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar flavors. Various types of biryanis made of fish and meat, chicken dishes, snacks, kappa, fish curry and mini sadya were the main attractions. It was an honor for governors, public representatives and high-ranking officials of various states to visit the food stall. The nine-day turnover also generated an income of about five lakh rupees.

The food stall was run under the supervision of Kudumbashree State Assistant Program Manager Shyju R.S. and Kudumbashree Yuvashree initiative iFramt’s Charathis Ajayakumar, Dayan and Rijesh.
